FLORIDA WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER; CLAIMS SHE SLIPPED WHILE SLICING PIZZA

POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA: A Florida woman was arrested and charged with second degree murder in the stabbing death of her husband after she claims she slipped while she was slicing a pizza while holding her dog.

Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff’s office say after a three month long investigation they believe 38-year old Rachel Fidanian intentionally killed her husband.

Fidanian told investigators several stories of how the stabbing occurred which involved her slipping or falling while holding a knife. She claimed that when she fell she accidentally stabbed her 40-year old husband, Bryant Fidanian.

Sheriff Grady Judd said, “The suspect made a lot of excuses, but none of them made sense. Our detectives did a thorough investigation. In the end, they determined this was an intentional act of domestic violence.”

Polk County Fire Rescue responded to the 911 call made by the suspect on June 25, 2018. Upon their arrival they received no answer at the door. When they entered the residence they were approached by he nude suspect.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital where he died of his injuries. An autopsy revealed that the knife had cut through the victim’s second rib bone, on his left side, and cut the pulmonary artery.

During the investigation the suspect told investigators that the victim was a great husband and that they never fought. When neighbors were questioned they stated that yelling and screaming from the residence was a common occurrence.

The victim had been arrested during a previous call to the residence for breaking the suspect’s arm.

Rachel Fidanian was arrested Wednesday and is being held in the Polk County Jail.
